Program backpack trip into Grand Gulch. He has continued as an educator,
river guide, and backcountry guide for the past 25 years. |

Bill Leibfried has lived and worked in the Grand Canyon for almost 30
years. Starting as a ranger at Phantom Ranch in the late 1970s and continuing
on through current research on endangered fish, his experience has taken
him from the Colorado River and into the backcountry of Grand Canyon.
