Hiking rim to rim is to many people the ultimate Grand Canyon experience. Experience this trip through time across the Grand Canyon with archaeologist Tim Gibbs. Gibbs’ knowledge of this spectacular gorge brings to life the canyon’s human history, ecology, flora, fauna, and geology. No matter whether we hike south to north or north to south, we will hike along the North Kaibab Trail and camp one night at Cottonwood, two nights at Phantom Ranch where mules resupply the group, and finally Indian Gardens. This strenuous hike has a maximum of seven miles per day, significant elevation loss and gain, and is recommended for experienced backpackers in good physical condition. All meals and snacks are provided.
